Please plan on joining Senator Paul Davis, along with our Community, Family, Friends, and Veterans, on Saturday, July 30, 2016, at 3:00PM, as we dedicate the bridge spanning the Piscataquis River between Atkinson and Sebec to our Hometown Hero Captain Jay Brainard,Apache Helicopter Pilot, KIA in Afghanistan on Memorial Day 2012.
The Piscataquis Republican Caucus will take place on March 5th at the Sedomocha School.
The town clerks will be at this location from 11-noon to register those that have recently moved to Maine, are unenrolled and would like to vote in the Republican Caucus or that may have just turned voting age.
The caucuses start at noon and voting is from 12-3 pm. You do not have to participate in the Caucus to vote, you may stop by anytime between noon and 3 to place your vote.
We encourage you to take part in your town caucus and consider being a delegate to the State Convention coming up in April.
Your participation will make a difference.
For more information you may call Charles Shaffer at 207-564-4951
The day after Labor Day is the traditional kickoff for the campaign season, and we will be holding the Grand Opening of our Headquarters in Dover-Foxcroft at 4 PM. Some major Republican figures from around the state will be there, so please come and give them a rousing welcome. If anyone has some goodies to bring, please do so 🙂
Robert’s Fair Report
We covered the Fair from 8AM Thursday morning until 6:10 PM Sunday night, and had a lot of success.
Charlie Shaffer set up Wed evening, and had been there for a while when Jill Halkin and I got there at 6 PM. After we removed everything out onto the grass, Jill ordered us out of the building and then did her White Tornado thing – very impressive. We were done by 8.
I did not give Paul Stearns any instructions – capable people are best left to their own devices. The result was an outstanding display – I’m thinking Paul could end up decorating the Capitol building 🙂
Paul opened every morning. Norm Higgins along with Trisha White, Maureen, Pete Johnson, Jim Annis and Ray Wallace held the middle shifts Thurs and Friday with some assistance from Bob and Gail Lynch. Paul and Patty Davis with Bob and Gail, Ray, Pete, Jim and Trisha White and Kathy Johnson did the heavy lifting Saturday. Jill and I were there from 2 or 3 PM to close at 8 PM daily, and Sunday from 1:30 to close. I must have missed somebody here, kudos to whoever figures it out.
We gave out over 40 signs, collected nearly $100 in donations, mostly for the Collins shirts and the LePage signs. And we were chewed out by 2 ladies in separate instances over the bear hunting referendum materials on the table. Those were also the most popular literature on the tables.
Attendance was not strong, but at least they went the distance on Sunday, quite a few parents with children that day, unlike last year when they started closing up at 2 or 3 PM.
Our profile was light years stronger than that of the Dems, who had a little tent near gate 1 with “I Like Mike” signs posted on it. I think more Democrats came to our booth 🙂
We will be at the Piscataquis Valley Fair all weekend.
Stop by and say Hi to Representatives, Senators and Candidates that will be maning the booth along with many Republican volunteers.
Welcome to the Piscataquis County Republican Committees website.
The Committee meets on the second Friday of every month at the Piscataquis Room at Mayo Hospital at 7pm.
Thank you for stopping by the site and for your patience as we get it all put together.
